A single particle of DNA+ is all you need to provide irrefutable forensic analysis
Each vile of DNA+ contains a unique forensic code that is registered to an individual or organisation. DNA+ is simple to apply and provides irrefutable evidence of ownership of stolen or lost items.
On average, it takes less than 15 minutes to protect valuables, which will help give peace of mind for a lifetime. Even if other security precautions are already in place, forensic coding works as a powerful deterrent and is a major advancement from traditional property marking.
Police routinely scan lost or stolen items to detect DNA+ forensic coding. Whilst forensic coding is first and foremost a deterrent, it does increase the chances of recovering your possessions.
COMBINED TECHNOLOGY
FOR MAXIMUM EFFECT
MICROPARTICLE TECHNOLOGY
DNA TECHNOLOGY
Microparticle technology was originally developed in World War II for espionage purposes. The original process used sophisticated optical and micro printing techniques. This was a time consuming, expensive and highly skilled process.
DNA+ uses similar optical techniques, however the micro-printing is now done by a precision laser. The Police like microparticles because they can read them without the need for specialist equipment. Every bottle has a unique code which is printed on thousands of microparticles. There is also a website address enabling law enforcement to quickly establish who is registered to that specific DNA+ bottle.
DNA evidence was introduced into the UK courts as being “irrefutable”. It changed the face of aggravated crime as it increased the fear of being caught.
Man made DNA was created by the police and scientists. This was born out of the frustration of not having “irrefutable evidence” on stolen items.
Forensic coding is a proven deterrent that reduces theft and increase the chances of having lost or stolen possessions returned. It is a simple process for the police as they only require an ultra violet light and a magnifier to identify.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How does forensic coding work?
The fear of being caught is a thief’s greatest concern. Historically, when thieves leave a property they have just burgled, the 'fear factor' drops away as it is difficult for Police to provide evidence that is 'beyond reasonable doubt'. Forensic coding irrefutably links possessions to the owner and when used as evidence forensic coding assists Police in obtaining convictions in court. DNA+ forensic coding is a powerful deterrent to thieves.
What sort of items can be coded?
Almost any item at risk of theft – from a television to a tractor. You code individual parts of a whole.
What should I do if I lose or have a possession stolen?
When you notify your Insurer and the Police of your loss, tell them that your possessions were forensically coded with DNA+ forensic coding.
What happens when the Police recover stolen property?
The Police use ultraviolet (UV or black) light to routinely scan recovered items for evidence and will spot DNA+ forensic coding. When an item of property is recovered, the police can match the unique code against the owner’s details in a national security database. This provides irrefutable proof of ownership.
What happens if I sell an item that has been forensically coded?
Simply make a note of the coded item that you have sold and the person you sold it to. Please give a receipt to the buyer, so they have proof that they have bought the item.
I have already marked my property, why would I need to forensically code it?
Forensic coding is virtually impossible to remove. It is possible to deface or remove traditional property marking systems such as UV pens or chemical etching. The Police actively search for any evidence that links stolen items to a crime scene. DNA+ forensic coding will assist them in securing convictions, thereby acting as a positive theft deterrent.
What happens if more than one person codes the same item?
The same item could be coded many times. It simply provides an 'audit trail' to establish the rightful owner.
Will DNA+ damage my possessions?
The solution contains a water based adhesive and will not harm possessions if applied correctly. To ensure correct application, please follow the application guidelines.
Why should I bother to use DNA+?
While everyone knows it's a good idea to take precautions against theft, mostly it's one of those things we put off until tomorrow. The truth is that theft is a fact of life and even if we have insurance, the disruption and trauma of losing your possessions, the thought of a thief being in your home or having your business disrupted by theft is a nightmare we prefer to live without.
Does forensic coding really work?
Yes. The simple reason is that thieves don't want to risk stealing property that is identifiable. Identifiable property significantly increases the chances of them being caught and convicted. In addition, trying to sell on identifiable property is more difficult. Thieves may be bad but they aren't stupid!
How are the microparticles read?
A simple mini microscope or magnifying glass (50 - 100 x magnification).
Can DNA+ be used outdoors?
Yes.
What happens if I move my insurance to a supplier that does not include DNA+ ?
Your details may be removed from the database which means that repatriation of lost or stolen property will be compromised. The agreement to display the DNA+ warning signage would also lapse and must be removed.
